Recently, sights of an unusual looking animal have been happening all around the town of Picayune, Mississippi, and some residents say that the animal very closely resembles that of the Mexican legend, "El Chupacabra". The legend of this animal goes all the way back to the 1970's where reports of an odd animal were caught sucking the blood out of farmer's livestock. A family was actually able to capture this creature on video in their backyard. The recorder of the film compared the animal to a "if a zombie had a dog, it would look like that". Another said that she kept looking up "hairless coyote" and it kept coming up with "Chupacabra". Local wildfire administrators think that the animal is a coyote with awful mange and that it's probably just sick and weak and unable to hunt on its own. Whether it is actually a Chupacabra or it's just a coyote, these civilians feel frightened and feel like they're in danger until it's gone.

Spider Infestation Closes School in UK
The Dean Academy, in Gloucestershire, England, closed on Wednesday because of a supposed false widow spider infestation. The false widow spider are very similar to black widow spiders, but aren't nearly as dangerous. Although these spiders have not bitten anyone yet, local health authorities suggested that the school closes so they can terminate the infestation. Local health authorities are also saying that these types of spiders are becoming more common throughout the UK, and a species of the false widow are one of the most dangerous spiders in Britain. These authorities also said that the spiders are not very aggressive and don't usually seek humans and compare their bites to wasp stings.

Russian Flesh Eating Drug Spreads to the US
Last week, 5 people reported to an Illinois hospital with the same symptoms; rotten and scaly skin. Doctors believe these defects were caused by a heroin knockoff drug that spread from Russia. This drug is called Krokodil and is a cheap and easy to make drug that results in green, scaly, flesh eating skin. It hasn't yet been confirmed that these cases are because of Krokodil, but the doctor at the Illinois hospital thinks it is because the patients said they thought they were buying heroin. He also says that it's a "zombie drug" and "it eats you from the inside out". This doctor is also very concerned because it is more addictive that morphine and is about 1/3 the price of heroin, so it looks very appealing to buy. Similar cases were reported about a month ago in Arizona and Utah, and with these cases breaking out in Illinois, it looks as if it will only keep spreading across the US.

Salmonella Outbreak
Monday, a poultry producer in California stated that he is working with health officials to solve recent salmonella outbreaks. There has been an estimated 278 illnesses that have been reported in 18 states. The source of the outbreaks are thought to be caused by raw chicken products from Foster Farms. Although the Food Safety and Inspection Service has found the source, they have no yet identified the specific products and production. They continue to monitor the outbreaks but cannot get further information because of the government shutdown. The Food Safety and Inspection Service partnered with state health departments are beginning to inspect the products before and after production to try and prevent any further salmonella outbreaks to occur.
